There is so much inspiration at our fingertips, only a scroll away. I’m talking about Instagram, of course and I’m delighted to share with you the stunning interiors of Jack Laver Brister, a third generation antiques dealer and interior decorator living in Somerset, England. A.k.a @tradchap, Jack’s Instagram account is dedicated to all things traditional featuring a delightful mix of atmospheric shots and historical homes, chic antiques and vintage chintz. His interiors reflect a comfortable, lived-in aesthetic, a faded country style look that is ever so charming. Following is a curated mix of his work as well as his Georgian home which was featured in Ros Byam Shaw’s new book Perfect English Townhouse.?Enjoy!

I’m with you, I love English country interiors, especially this time of year. They are so much more relaxed, comfortable, lived in and cozy. They just seem to throw it all in there, add a potted geranium ot two and somehow it all works. I love the wallpaper in the bath and the cabinet with shelves over the toilet. I probably would have done something boring and painted the interior the background color of the wallpaper, but on my iPad it looks pink, probably the color of one of the shells. I follow Tradchap on Instagram, but I didn’t realize his home was in the book. I’m adding it to my Christmas book list! Oh, and I brought my geraniums in this year.

All of her books are wonderful Eva! You will want them all if you get this one. She perfectly expresses in one of her books when describing the collection of homes included, that their commonality is not with what is “done” in their homes, but with what is “undone”. That unfinished, always evolving, collected look is so much more appealing to me than a perfectly designed room. xo

Thank you for you suggestion, Maura! I’ve already ordered her book on townhouses but had no idea she wrote others as well. I will certainly check them out, after all what are Christmas lists for? xo

Hello Mary! Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment! I agree with you about the collected and eclectic mix that somehow always works. The Brits are masters at creating that worn and comfortable look. xo
